    Now you are testing my high school maths.

    Surface area of a circle A=πr2 = 3.14159 x (0.5)2 = 0.78539km2

    1km2 = 100 hectares so 0.78539km2 = ~785 hectares.

    The Catoca pipe has a diameter of 1km see these videos.
