Banning guns in Oz didn't change the murder statistics.
Even though everyone in Switzerland owns guns, their overall murder rate is half that of the UK and Oz, and one eighth that of the US.
Guns don't kill people. People with guns kill people. If they can't get a gun, obviously they get a knife or a baseball bat or something. People with knives kill people, with bombs, with machetes .....
Banning or controlling guns is a knee jerk reaction by pollies who want to be seen to be doing something. So long as they get air time they don't care. In the UK they want to ban sharp pointed kitchen knives! If they succeed with that, next it will be serrated knives, then cricket bats ......
