Very true Hawks, we went out to dinner the other night on the wharf at Woolloomooloo. We go there often and have done for a long time. Every restaurant was jam packed and turning away those without reservations. These are not cheap places to eat and they were heaving!

People have money to spend and are spending it.

I've been busy so not paying attention to retail numbers recently but I vaguely remember seeing a surprise on the high side last week..??..

Also agree that property will take a breather. Particularly in Sydney. Some quality properties that would have sold 5 times over for the past 2 years are being passed in and sitting on the market with a price on them that is not unreasonable. Buyers have seen the top and don't want to be the one sitting at a dinner party saying that they have just bought. "oh, really, you bought a the top of the market did you..."
