pioupiou, if a punter bought in a short time ago around SP $10 and then hung on thru this latest ordeal with insto. selling, the said punter would then be feeling rather "sick' at the moment.
basically, he/she has lost 20% of potential capital.
i totally agree with you about the rare opportunity to stock up on a genuine "sale", but what i can never understand is probably what you would consider a moot point, but nonetheless, very pertinent to this scenario- why not take profits and sell out earlier, as the rising sp was making the PEG seem a bit non attractive, especially to foreign $'s not qualifying for any franking credits.
that said, i bought in today, as i think i am starting to change my whole investment strategy- buy 'beaten' down shares in good companies, hopefully , make some serious % gain , then offload them for a handsome profit before they have a correction, and then just sit on the sidelines, biding my time for the next great opportunity.
