On this thread you have slipped seamlessly back and forth between the positions of "gun ownership doesn't have any effect" and "gun homicides may be higher in countries with high rates of gun ownership but overall homicides are not effected". We have already proven that even your favourite hobby horse Switzerland has much higher rates of gun deaths per capita than countries with tight gun control. The numbers don't lie and even you have conceded that this is so during the course of this thread......and now you want to present us with an article to show us, and I quote, "regulating gun ownership doesn't have any effect".
Well I'll see you your article and raise you a study that shows the likelihood of being killed by a gun in Australia has halved since we introduced tighter gun laws:

"The Australian example provides evidence that removing large numbers of firearms from a community can be associated with a sudden and on-going decline in mass shootings, and accelerating declines in total firearm-related deaths, firearm homicides and firearm suicides."
