all I am saying is that sceptic does not differentiate between
- the scientist (or other) who considers themselves a sceptic but who agrees with mainstream climate science, and
- the scientist (or other) who considers themselves a sceptic but disagrees with mainstream climate science
so another term is required
and I am also of the view that the scientific method,
"a method or procedure that has characterized natural science since the 17th century, consisting in systematic observation, measurement, and experiment, and the formulation, testing, and modification of hypotheses."
implies scepticism, in the requirement for testing of hypotheses.
So you end up looking for a differentiating terminology
But enough navel gazing on the subject for me
