How can the writer at the Courier know it is short sellers responsible for today as opposed to just ordinary bearish selling?
Each day the ASX puts out a list of gross daily short sales from the previous day. That list for today (tuesday) as I understand is not available until tomorrow. Google "gross daily short sales" and the ASX list will have monday's data not today's. Until about 12pm to 12.30pm when tuesdays will be available.
Does the Courier have a faster source for today's gross short sales?

Aah! "it appeared". Analyst guessing is being reported as fact (or at least headlined as fact) it seems.
