i don't remember the girl being locked up. making her out to be an innocent victim is way too much. the question to be asked is at what age should one be held responsible for what one says? the fact that racism is so ingrained that she didn't understand says if she's not getting an education at home then society needs to intervene. not to punish but to get her to understand the implication of what she said.
