Interesting article - potential competitor??, page-15

Interesting article, if nothing else. Even if the concept never makes it to the commercial phase, or even development phase (I doubt it will), it does highlight the fact that we will eventually (possibly sooner than we think) face competition.

Many on here seem blinkered to any negative commentary, but I think keeping an eye on the competition will be increasingly important, probably more so once we list in NY and become a bigger, more well known brand globally.

Two things I like about AJX though:

First mover advantage. It's completely common sense, but being able to establish ones self in the market before there is significant competition is HUGE. It means a competitor that comes along later is going to have to have something seriously special to take market share from AJX. This factor should not be understated.

Our clear focus on R&D. It's obvious we have a crack team of chemists and product developers working for us, and I have faith that we should have no problem staying at the lead of the chasing pack. The fact that we have been the first to develop FR for nylon, something that even the inventors of the material have been trying to crack for decades, suggests to me that we have a very, very smart group of guys working for us. It's also why I like our strategy - AJX isn't interested in building production facilities etc. We are focusing on developing innovative "ahead of the game" products and solutions for our clients. That is where we should focus to cement our growing reputation as industry leading innovators.

In summary, it's going to be very important to keep our eyes on the competition, but from what I can tell, it seems like we have the right setup (and focus) to stay firmly at the front of te development curve.
