I'm concerned about the user experience with these devices such as connecting to a smart TV through your phone. Who's interface would you be interacting with, Xpeds default interface for a smart TV?
I think the larger companies would want to build their own app with their tested designs and functions not rely on another company to fulfill that experience.
As with speakers, most already have Bluetooth compatibiliy that is a cheap modular part to add on and does the job.
So it leaves what els... lights? Lights sound cool to control from your phone but who is really going implement this technology. Clappy lights sounded like a great idea but how many people have clappy lights?
If your able to connect to the compatibile devices which then shows their independent interface built by their makers I suppose that's cool, it saves us downloading multiple apps.
Don't get caught up with connectivity of devices and futuristic imagination. Remember the Back to the future movie thought we would all have hover boards by now.
I'm bullish on RYG but not this acquisition, I hope they turn it into something better then it is or what I have made it out to be.
