Yes it's IoT, they are also calling/proposing for standard protocol to be implemented across all devices manufacturer and software platform? Anyhow, That's veryhard to get everyone on board, so they comeup with third party device and software that can work with every device, just like plugable thing, and software to customise.

For me, everything with internet connectivity directly/indirectly or wirelessly/wired, is Internet of Things (IoT) this days.
I think my interpretation of IoT, is a dataflow b/n two or more devices via a gateway or on the web in advance connectivity mode, for the purpose of monitoring, controlling and managing that makes life easier, furthermore if I may polticise this, then it's all about monopolising of the THINGS, everything on the web from customer information, your movement, connectivity, etc etc, information given volunteerly to the big boys and girls. Everything pass through a third party that is the web.

"British entrepreneur Kevin Ashton first coined the term in 1999 while working at the Auto-ID Labs (originally called Auto-ID centers - referring to a global network of RFID connected objects)."
