It seems that the European press are behind Abbott's stance yet the Aussie ABC/Fairfax mob are more anti-Abbott than ever.
It's very easy to be judgemental once your own borders are secure.
Merkel's days are numbered, the anti-immigration parties are on the rise all over Europe and the Aussie left-wing media will still not give any credit where it is undoubtedly due.
If Abbott chooses not to contest the next election then I would not blame him. The left-wing media (and posters on here) will never allow him to be a competent back-bencher serving his electorate. For reasons known only to them they have a genuine hatred of a man who served his country well. Truly bizarre.
