Daily spot prices become weekly averages, weekly averages become monthly etc etc
Spot down slightly again last night - dropped about 2.50 in 3 weeks . You oil comparison is a bad one . What we pay at the pump is impacted by currency , refinery margins, retail profits and a oligopoly of sorts. Look at the oil price and compare the impact on oil producer SP and their balance sheets ( STO , ORG , AwE ) and there you will see the impact of oil prices.
For the same reason why were getting excited when spot price was jumping , we should be monitoring the fall
