why commodities boom is not over Simply because new production hasn't come on stream as yet......and if we crash out now and new project gets shelved we will be in for on hell of a boom in about 2 years time. The US can raise interest rates all they like but it ain't gonna find any new deposits of U, copper, zinc or increase iron ore mining ad\nd shipping capacity.
Oil is a big part of the equation esp with a near term peak looking more likely....but I think at least for 1st 20 years after production has peaked the suply gap can be filled by less than adequate alternatives and stave off a major econmic depression, and keep the commodities rocking.
