Hi All,
I am proposing a price prediction competition for daytraders based on intraday trading. The first stage of this initiation is to develop a system that can be measured, valued and assessed for competition. My proposal for this system is for day traders to submit their prediction to the person who run the competition on certain format. The submitted prediction will be collected by the administrator of the competition, and the closest call to actual price will be the winner of the day or week.

There are three main prices on a daily trade, and those are “Open, Low, High and Close”. Before we complicate on the four main price, I propose to get started by predicting only the “High” of the day on the approved or active stocks only?

For example, If I submit for tomorrows high on RYG or until tomorrow before the market open (what ever the rules will be), my prediction will be collected by the Administrator and after the close of the market the highest accuracy prediction will be the winner of the day, Winner will be announced on aftermarket or The Weekend lounge, then certain number of winner will be decorated with a medal

Term and conditions:-

Formula: 1.00–abs(Actual-high- predicted-high)/Predicted-high

Accuracy = 1.00–abs(0.043- 0.034)/0.034
= 73.53 %

Although I like the idea of a comp I think there is enough noise on the DT forum without people adding in their 10 minute updates of how their selections are going. The selections might be on the pre or after market threads but I can see the morning and afternoon threads full of "yippee, XXX is up x% so I think I'm winning so far" type of posts. This will be amongst all the ramping and down ramping posts. So again, not against it but I think any quality posts will be diluted via another distraction.
