Celestial you are partly right I think.
But if you walk out the door, I can only suggest that you do so only after an objective analysis of the fundamentals. If you make yourself thoroughly satisfied that you no longer believe the company is viable or will make money or deals and the science is unsound, that would be a rational decision. But you need to step away from the emotion of the paper losses and what is happening to the SP right now. IMO it's being manipulated.
I think that the company probably can't speak with the candour they'd like about what is going on.
If retail investors* decide to react emotionally, I don't think the company can save them from themselves. This is about keeping control of your emotions. Call the company and talk to them about what they are allowed to talk about. I found it helpful as even I got a bit affected on Monday. JIMO.
(Traders are another story. They react on charts and data and don't care if it's widgets, blood diamonds or life saving treatment they are dealing with.)
