Cucumber, in the course of a previous thread on this subject some time back, someone posted an ATO ruling to the guts of the following:
THERE is no tax on profits from gambling.
If you can satisfy the ATO that the purpose of your CFD trades is to satisfy a COMPULSIVE gambling habit, you need not pay tax on profits.
You would have to apply for an individual ruling.
