    Josimar, I agree that the future for the utilisation of Victorian brown coal is with upgraded energy products like hydrogen and BTEX petrochemicals. My experience with those Japanese companies looking to produce hydrogen from brown coal is that they are focussing on the production of coal gas (syngas) that can be cost effectively stripped into hydrogen. For this process, direct gasification or pyrolysis (to produce syngas and semi coke) seems to be preferred. Both direct gasification and pyrolysis benefit by the pre-drying of the coal feedstock, so the Japanese are considering pre-drying by steam tube dryers or, potentially, ECT's Coldry process. You say that the chtd technology is incomparable as a front end tech for downstream processing. Can you tell me why?
