Sure - history is full of people who jumped too early, and lost everything despite the area eventually exploding and making many others rich. I don't want to be one of those - can't afford to be - but I salute those who go into such situations with their eyes open. Such people are absolutely necessary - without them, the height of technology would still be the sharpened stick.
If you spend any time studying history, you'll know that the argument "it's not profitable now, therefore it's worthless" is crap. A great many of the things we now rely on on a day-to-day basis spent many years in the doldrums, reliant on subsidies for survival, before finally taking off.
