My dear Yak, still bored with the markets and seeking alternative entertainment? Dont stress, they'll pick up in a couple of months, unless GWB does something stupid to create total market chaos. You tried to stir me on that "friendly fire" issue and disappointed me by not commenting on my reply.Tsk, tsk. On this issue, i will comment as follows: he was not a soldier, Yak, he was a civilian settler, a fact which makes his fate somewhat crueler, as a soldier is fair game in a war (and it IS a war). He is a tragic victim of his own Govt's policies, and they should be held to blame for his death equally. I do not condone his murder by the extremist group that killed him, but I apportion blame equally towards the Israelis for his cruel fate. If a group of men continually beat a dog with a stick over a long period of time, and that dog eventually savaged a kid, you would blame the dog, right? Because that is in effect what you are doing. I would put down the dog, but go after the men that "turned" it and hold them responsible. Btw, when did I ever say or imply that the Pallies were the "Bees Knees"? Please dont ever misquote me again.
And while we're feeling loquacious , you might want to explain something to me? Last night, watching Dateline, I learned Israel had been keeping incarcerated 400 Pallie women and 150 children under the age of 18 for YEARS! Why? What crimes have they commited? Some of those women have given birth to children in prison, and those children are still in captivity with their mothers. What crimes have those children commited against the State of Israel? Apart from having been born Pallestinian, of course? And if those children are ever released, and one kills an Israeli, you'ld blame the kid, right? Just explain to me the purpose the IDF has in keeping women and children in captivity like that. As hostages against the behaviour of their husbands/fathers? If so, dont ever complain again about an Israeli being taken hostage.
