A simulation is not obvious. It is not obvious, or that simple, because the means of perception - the observer, the human brain/mind/ representation of the world - is made of the same fundamental 'stuff' as that which is being perceived 'externally' as collapsed wave matter/energy when observed. The wave/particles (wavicles) of the brain being entangled with everything else, including what is being perceived and experienced when observations are being made and experiments and measurements carried out. The instruments are merely the extension of the function of human brain/mind, albeit designed by human ingenuity as a vastly more sensitive instrument/detector than that of our own senses unaided.
