Shares in Australian cinema and film production group, Village Roadshow, rose by more than 13% on 30 April 2003. The stock closed $A0.18 higher at $A1.55 on speculation that the group's latest film production, "Matrix Reloaded", will be one of the biggest grossing films at the box office in 2003. The film, which opens in cinemas across Australia in mid-May, is a sequel to the highly successful "The Matrix", which was released in 1999. A second sequel, "Matrix III", is due for cinema release in November 2003.
