Good to see lively debate continue on SSN, and all the regulars still here (a bit like tuning into the occasional episode of days of our lives maybe?).

Buc your post about the concept of "re-fracking" prompted me to respond because I find it a very intriguing development. I see it very much similar to the concept of "power purchase agreements" (or PPAs) which is bringing the next wave of investment in solar energy - basically most people who are going to buy solar have bought it, now that industry is bringing in $0 upfront solar for those who don't want to outlay the cash upfront. Its a way of selling more solar and also for the electricity grid guys to hook consumers before they lose them.

So the re-fracking companies seem to me a business model development by the fracking guys (HAL et al) to maintain their business by making it easier for the oil & gas producers to put capex into their wells. I will be most interested to see if this takes concept takes off - always interested to see if an industry adapts to a new business model / paradigm.
