re: industrial usage Surely the only "usage" that's important is that which is consumed or irretrievably lost. This figure is too small to be relevent. The jewlery trade merely reshapes it.
I have read that jewelery demand, or lack of it, has little effect on POG. I suspect that the Bombay jewelers are cagy, selective buyers. I just can't imagine them shutting up shop because the POG is too high. They would simply delay buying till it drops to the support line.
