Selections are a mystery. The best centre (Gasnier)in NSW/Australia playing at five eighth? Finch even though not the best NSW half back won the first game for NSW with that field goal! had a shocker in the second and dropped for the third?

The thing is with NSW selectors they have so much talent they think they can pick anyone in a position and the rest of the star studded blokes will carry the team to a win. Queensland played a shocker in the first game and still only lost by 1 point. The second game I thought Qld would lose by 20 points and they won by about the same. The third game I thought Qld would lose by about 15 points with NSW coming back hard. It looked all over with bad decisions but pride brought them back to win thats with a new centre, wing and fullback not as talented as the NSW counterparts?

I think its a team pride thing with Qld whereas with NSW its an individual thing. I DON'T THINK SELECTIONS WERE MADE TO GIVE QLD A CHANCE, I just think its the old arrogance adage of NSW being the biggest and the best. It is good for the game Qld winning every now and then but it wasn't rigged that way, look at the faces of the NSW blokes after the game! POOR SELECTION HAD AN IMPACT but I bet the NSW players who were picked did not want or expect to lose. I expected Qld to lose but I still bet on them to win, its a Queenslander pride thing. Once again better and more quality players from NSW but the team of triers often negates for the brilliant individuals.

Who heard of MOGG before game 2?, what was Wesser doing on the wing etc. etc?, you can debate selections all the time but its the bonding and pride for each other not the individual, the chance to prove you are better than NSW think that pushes the Queenslanders.
