Yes, we are frustrated at not knowing the newly known knowns, but FAR quite clearly said no detail would be released until quantifiable results were developed.
If Whisky's interpretation is right - and I agree with his logic - then an excellent outcome from SNE is now highly likely.
Potentially more exciting still are the known unknowns - all those targets on the migration path, the first of which, Bellatrix, is but a few months away from being tested. In a sense, the other known unknown is FAN, the complexity of which resulted in widely varying estimates of oil in place.
Who knows where this Senegal venture might end up. The JV's geos of course have much more seismic and other data than has been released, but the publicly available material has been examined by other geos with experience in Senegal-like strata. At least one, I know, very much likes what he sees. His estimate of the province's potential oil reserves is eye-watering.
He is now a shareholder.
