But the bible story has no cages mentioned. You can't keep a butterfly in a cage. You'd need some very very large cages, small cages, indeed cages of all shapes, sizes, and made from very many different materials. Would there have been time to have put an order into the nearest factory available to Noah at the time, with specified measurements/material to be used etc just before the flood, in order for these to have been produced and sent to Noah, via jet plane, in time to house these animals, birds, insects, fish etc. Wouldn't the fish need water tanks? And they couldn't share because fish eat fish, and animals eat fish, and animals eat other animals, and animals kill birds, oh dear, wouldn't this be a bit difficult for Noah to work all this out for a zillion big and little critters????
