They did the Murrindindi/Marysville class action arising out of Black Saturday. That was a $300 million settlement which was formally approved in May 2015. Over $20 million in fees plus then disbursements were advised /approved by the Court to Maurice Blackburn as a result of this action.

They also did the Kilmore East - Kingslake Complex class action which was settled in 2014 for $494 million. Maurice Blackburn's then costs were stated as $37 million (since then, higher, as they have been administering the 4,000+ claims) with a further $23 million for disbursements.

So, they're not exactly short of a quid themselves.

As to who might be assisting them? Consider their primary funding partner, IMF, as a very strong possibility.

Sorry Grant I was having a dig at researchandwin who's implication was shareholders were "throwing money at MB" when the evidence is the contrary.
