NXP just launched a new chip at CES2016 - QN9080
I would actually hope it is NXP because their tech is remarkably similar.
One chip maker at a time and NXP along with Sony did create NFC so it sounds like a good place to start.
Start with NXP, then the other chip makers see the benefit and one by one they come on board.
Oh and NXP is more than a little familiar with Adelaide Australia. they are a major backer of Cohda Wireless the Adelaide based Connected Cars Company.
