I notice there are other milk brands with A2 protein marketed on the label, and I would expect more of this as time goes on.
Honestly, I expect this will become like the first brands that marketed their milk as permeate free and enjoyed a short term uptick in sales, but now they are all marketed as such.
I've purchased A2 Milk a few times, and I couldn't tell a difference between it and the Coles 2L full cream, so went back to buying that at $3 for 3L. I think people who claim there is a taste difference are probably grasping at anything to appear sophisticated, sorta like people who buy a Rolex, it's just an aspirational brand, the people buying it aren't actually rich or sophisticated at all.
I bought the A2 icecream once too, and it was nice, but not something I'd buy again. The market for upscale ice cream is pretty competitive and at that price range, there are better options.
Having considered buying A2M bck last year just under 50c, I am a little miffed to miss out on the price increase, but then again, I'm still confident that sales will decline once recession hits us. If A2M were primarily an international baby formula company, I might feel a bit more confident, but it's more domestic fresh milk focused which will see people return to the cheaper option sooner than later.
