BHP can easily service its 'massive debt' and pay a slightly pared back dividend, even its previous full dividend, it has a aaa credit rating still doesn't it? Rating agencies do not hand out aaa credit ratings to companies that have questions over debt servicing. I get you want to make money on shorting BHP but please be realistic, there is absolutely zero question of BHP's debt servicing capability.
