Very soon BHP board will be mulling over splitting the once mighty bhp into it's individual 'pillars' as stand alone companies. The oil division was mooted to be another spin-off last decade but never eventuated. Some very difficult decisions coming and I don't think the current board has the capacity to understand how rapidly globalisation is evolving. How many of the past spin-offs have been successful as far as shareholder value goes? Nil!
