Lightning70.... please tell me how a falling aussie dollar puts money back into the pockets of Chinese Mums?????
Do you think that when "goods" such as anchovies imported from Spain and end up on Woolworths shelves are reduced or increased because Woolworths paid too much or not enough for them is reflected in your shop. Sure they pass on increased prices but not decreased prices. The "importer" whom has a contract with the retailer only benefits from currency conversion, perhaps they might buy more when our dollar falls to U.S 50 cents by end of 2016, but can they buy more?
Are Bellamys and A2M in a position to sell more or are they almost at their limit?
They might very well buy more, or we supply more just like with any "goods" export...ultimately with extra production and a falling aussie dollar to have to ramp up production and "work harder" for the same bottom line. Especially if the AUS dollar falls drastically.
As for you theory on repatriation and conversion the costs of this product are instigated in Australia and New Zealand. The dehydrators and processing facilities are here. We don't ship raw milk there with the recipe to make our baby formula. Costs are born here!!!!
