Interestingly, it would appear that TEN-010 could never have been considered for Grand Challenge 6 funded by CRUK. The Grand Challenge Advisory Panel will only consider applications which ' focus upon targeting the Myc protein itself'. As far as I understand, the drug acquired by Roche doesn't directly target Myc but rather targets one of the collaborators of Myc - a bromodomain inhibitor.
Applications for the Grand Challenge close 12 February 2016. I must say that the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute would make an outstanding co-investigator for the Myc challenge in light of their pioneering work on Myc over the last decade.
