Going onto a shareholder forum and telling (mostly) other shareholders that their company is “rubbish” is probably not going to win you friends. Declaring yourself a “fool” for investing in the company which indirectly calls others shareholders the same too, again won’t make you popular either. Then after the insults you declare you wish everyone could be more courteous to you?
I’m continually confused as to why the naysayers stay and whine instead of selling and moving on. If you want to complain or challenge the company, just do some research and come up with valuable points which either the company can respond to (they do read this forum) or perhaps another shareholder may be able to answer or take up with the company.
And although some think to the contrary, I’m all for pointing out issues and questioning things that seem wrong. Although I appreciate the SP is out of their hands to some degree, they did say that in 4Q15 they would advise 1) Updated reserves of over 300PJ by NEGI FID (Ann. 26Aug2015), & 2) binding GSAs executed as soon as possible after the announcement of the NEGI preferred bidder? (Ann. 08Oct2015). A legitimate complaint would be what is the status of these?
Now we are only weeks into 2016, so I’m happy to cut a little slack for delays to what can be complicated things to put in place, but these are issues I’m sure many are waiting for. Also waiting to see the kind of production we get from our producing fields in the Qtly Production Report due at the end of this month.
So there are some legitimate issues in my opinion. No doubt if you comb through the reports and presentations you could probably find more.
Raising these and discussing them is fair game in my opinion, but calling the company rubbish, or personally attacking the management team, or desperately hoping that any bad news (eg. weak US law case) will come down on it badly and prove that the old management team were better, is not right and I’ll look to call it out every time…
