In their feasibility study, the company said that in Olaroz they were building a plant capable of delivering 17,500 metric tonnes of lithium carbonate per year: in common engineering parlance, this is often referred to as the ‘nameplate capacity.’

In this case this is equivalent to a production of about 50 tonnes of Li2CO3 per day.

After a while, management began taking about the ‘breakeven capacity’ the production ate which sales will be equal to costs – although they never specified what costs they were referring to.

More recently they said to have reached a capacity of 20 tonnes per day.
