human nature really. things change but change tends to happen much more slowly than change agents expect.
its like the referendum on australian republic. at a logic level theres zero real reason we should stay part of commonwealth. yet even when we've been running our own affairs for at least 50 years - most people cant risk changing when putting it to a vote.
but you are maybe missing my main point.
stuff does change eventually.
but mostly people go broke expecting change that doesnt happen in time.
thats what i was cautioning against
