"Forecasting the thermal and coking coal requirement of the steel companies, the Ministry said that SAIL (Steel Authority of India Ltd) would require 436-million tonnes of thermal coal and 732-million tonnes of coking coal over the next 30 years, while NMDC would require 125-million tonnes of thermal coal and 319-million tonnes of coking coal..."
"NMDC, the country’s largest iron ore miner was constructing a 3-million t/y steel mill in central Indian province of Chhattisgarh and slated to be operational by mid-2017 but would be dependant on merchant purchase of coal."
No wonder India are taking Coldry-Matmor seriously. It could be the answer to 1.6 billion tonne of problems.
