It's only correct that Rudd, once put back in the top job, attempted to wash the blood from his hands.
Here's the other side of the mountain of financial waste, foreign-relation disasters and needless deaths which Rudd created:
Abbott kept Rudd's guilty-conscience policies in place improved them and ensured that the people-smugglers were out of business and the drownings stopped.
Whether Rudd would have done so post-election had he won is up or debate. We all remember how long 'economic conservative' Rudd lasted. Would 'strong borders' Rudd have lasted an longer?
I notice that Turnbull is also sensible enough to keep Abbott's full suite of policies in place. It takes years of work and multi-party consensus to build strong borders and one thought-bubble of Rudd idiocy to scrap that work. Rudd belatedly became aware of his monumental folly but that in no way excuses it.
