Good post Farjock....the impending re-rating of FAR that we are all anticipating comes when the oil we have found is moved up from contingent along with confirmation of commerciality.
If the sentiment towards oil is favorable at that juncture then hopefully we will see the long awaited share price rise.
The company is moving forward with step one and hopefully the stakeholders in the oil price are moving forward as well. It certainly seems that Russia are now holding a stronger hand if they were to meet with the Saudis et al now.
Talking about sentiment makes me think of the PJ/Aqua tussle;
I personally dont think either of them should be castigated for their work on this forum....and thats what it is ..Work!...they both apply a lot of time and effort to share with us their thoughts.
For all the forum watchers here they should be thankful to both of them and I will explain why;
Assuming FAR gets past the next 6months without being taken out;
Holding shares in a company with so much potential like FAR is only a small part of the equation......its knowing when to sell a share such as this that is the difficult part....I.E there is nothing worse than selling out at what you perceive to be a good price only to sit back and watch it double again;
PJ's work via his charts is very grounded and could be classified as factual....to me it is devoid of sentiment (no malice intended here PJ so please dont open an argument with me);
Aqua, on the other hand, is fully inflated.....to me it is maxed out with sentiment;
.....this brings me to my point;
I have found that the best time to sell is when a stock is loaded with sentiment...because generally that sentiment evaporates and the stock finds its equilibrium somewhere around its inherent value.
How do we know when the price is full of sentiment?....well for a starter it probably wont be reflected on PJ's charts and, depending on where you want to pick a spot, it will be somewhere up into Aqua territory.
Obviously the above applies when the company has had a re-rating event.....and if we get past a takeover there will be a few of those events....I'll leave someone else to postulate on what those events will be otherwise I will bore you all to tears....
Whiskey maybe????
