Fair comment. However from now on, on the specific issue of 'abused children' past or present racism is not an excuse for anyone to abuse children.
I'd add removing a child from their parent is abuse, but if the parent isn't responsible and is abusing their child, it would take a great deal of indecency to ignore it.
