I've been thinking a bit about what the status will be with our other customers like AbbVie if Amgen do take a stake. Will they be happy moving forward knowing they are helping a competitor? Thinking it through, I think this is the reason the Amgen deal is going to be capped at 19.9%. At 20% they get a seat on the board and that would give them access to all the goings on with their competitors. That would be a conflict of interest, especially given the secrecy that has surrounded every deal to date. Capping it below the level that will keep the confidentiality in all the existing contracts meaning they can move forward unhindered. Yes Amgen will profit from their competitors actions but they won't be privy to what they are. That's why I don't see a complete takeover being on the cards.
