Interesting interview with WPL's CEO today in the SMH. Talking about how the OSH deal fell through and how they are now better off looking at the smaller end of the set scale for acquisitions. He talks about their offshore Senegal/GB farmin and says they are interested in more advanced assets in deepwater offshore Senegal and West Africa generally. There are some aseets offshore Senegal that are now available that weren't for sale 12 months ago .... wonder which assets they are???????? He says they are "long dated" (i.e. some years to production) and WPL is considering the cash requirement to acquire them and develop them. Sounds a bit like the JV's Senegal assets to me (FAR or CNE).
Interesting! Could this explain the little run on Friday? More likely SNE-3 outcomes but every little bit of interest and speculation helps!
