gz re: indonesia about to invade australia
gz, from Aceh the fault line continues north then turns across the top of India and continues on through the Mediterranean Sea. The one you are thinking about intersects with that line around northern Pakistan and runs south to the east of Madagascar, separating the African plate and the Indo-Australian plate. The African plate is moving northward and our Indo-Australian plate is also moving northward or perhaps more NNE which perhaps means that there are no great forces being generated along that fault. WA is more exposed to any activity along the northern fault, particulary from the Pilbara up, as any tsunami would arrive at right angles to the coastline there.
