Personally, I am not a fan of companies making corporate acquisitions.
My experience is that it invariably results in a transfer of value from the acquirer to the shareholders of the company being acquired.
From what I can discern - on the basis of the limited research I've done on the business RMD is buying - this is a meaningful departure from Resmed's core competency of the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders.
This is most a unusual thing for Resmed to do.
In summary, I am not very happy about it.
It worries me.
