trouble with downtrend lines ... when an index has risen above one (as has the s&p500) then the gains for shorters is limited because the index usually finds support at that downtrend line even if the downtrend continues.. the s&p futs today has declined but so far has found support at the former downtrend line... so probably not much to gain by shorting the bugg*er here.. tricky... patience...
