I'm not sure what argument you're referring to? That journalists like Chanticleer not always correct? Of course not - who said they were. The confidence with which the view is expressed the Chanticleer and timing of it says something, but he's not quoting a verifiable source so it's just firm speculation in circumstances.
The "massive overreach" was paying $1.3b Quindell. My interpretation the recent Ann is straightforward. You're welcome to disagree.
