I like the assets in S32 much more than BHP's. i think they are better placed to grow in the current messsy low commodity price environment. CEO Graham Ker muttered this week about expanding in speciality metals, which sounds more attractive than BHP's IO, coal, gas and copper. Sorry, I don't have a citation for that assertion.
I am overweight S32 (like many in this forum) and have no BHP.
Many quality mines will become available for sale this year unless commodities rebound - which I think unlikely. S32 has the opportunity to pick the eyes out of this market and build a great mining house.
We shall see.
