Firstly this tax alleviates the fear that the govt is going to ban grey imports. The govt is putting a small tax on imports which will affect all formulas from the netherlands to new zealand.
A customer who can afford a 45 dollar tin of formula can reasonably afford a 48 dollar a tin of formula.
I believe the tax is a step in the right direction as it solidifies the grey market with a stamp of approval from the chinese govt.
likewise the govt is getting rid of 80 percent of duplicate formula brands also which is a positive trade off
