@Ophir I live blogged the US Releases from 12:30 (as I generally do) in R/T,,,yes GC fell immediately and then spiked up. I had to point this out, so intense was the discussion - and distraction - on the Econ Releases (also Int. Trade for Jan), and their potential impact - on gold, currencies, equities and perhaps most importantly, the Fed and rates.
Why "inevitable"? Profit taking? Just a repetitive pattern you've observed - two steps forward, one step back? Something else?
